The Integrative Psychology Graduate Consortium is organizing the third annual Psychology Cross Program Conference. This year, we are having a data blitz and we would like to invite 4 undergraduate researchers to present data from projects they’ve been working on in the psychology department. A data blitz is a series of very short presentations, 2 minutes a piece, that gives students an opportunity to quickly share the most exciting parts of their intellectual contribution to the psychology community.
For undergraduates interested in applying, please submit a brief abstract (no more than 250 words) to be reviewed by the consortium. We will then choose 4 presenters based on clarity and completeness of the work. The deadline to submit is on March 1st. Before submitting, undergraduates should first talk to their research mentors (i.e. Professors, Graduate Students) to determine the most appropriate set of data that can be presented in 2 minutes – we will be very strict on this cut-off time. Before the conference, the consortium will hold two presentation practice days to help stream line slides and work on presentation style. However, these practice days should supplement, not substitute, the student working closely with their lab mentors.
The data blitz is a great opportunity for undergraduates to get experience presenting research in a concise and accessible manner, a skill that will prove valuable in their later work (not to mention, it looks great on a CV for graduate school). Click here to submit your abstract.
