The Social Justice Initiative (SJI) at UIC is looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team and help support various social justice programs.
Position: Administrative Assistant (Undergraduate)
Location: Remote or hybrid
Type: Part-time (20 hours/week)
Duration: June 17 to December 31
Pay: $15.40–$17.60/hr
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level administrative support to SJI staff.
- Coordinate with vendors and community partners for specific projects.
- Research accounting resources to gather data for statements or reports and reconcile accounts.
- Handle correspondence containing security-sensitive information securely.
- Provide logistical support during the September 2024 conference.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Special events may require additional hours.
Qualifications:
- Must be a UIC undergraduate student.
- Previous administrative and clerical experience required.
- Highly organized and promptly responsive.
- Effective communication skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced remote work setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive); proficiency with Adobe DC preferred.
- At least three (3) years of University coursework or equivalent clerical experience, two of which must have involved discretion and independent judgment.
