The University of Illinois at Chicago Health Professions Navigator Program (UIC-HPN) is now accepting applications for two summer programs:
1) The Research Training and Career Development Program (RTCP), a program intended for highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds. RTCP will help familiarize students with research and practice opportunities by pairing them with a mentor, or placing them in a practice site.
If you are an undergraduate or graduate student (from any college or university), and have an interest in pursuing a career within the health professions, you are eligible to apply! RTCP is 8 weeks long and concludes with an end of program poster presentation that family and friends are welcome to attend to learn more about your summer work! 2) GRE/MCAT/DAT Prep Program (GMDP): GMDP is designed to prepare students from disadvantaged backgrounds to be competitive applicants for graduate or professional school. In addition to a test preparation course for the GRE, MCAT, or DAT exams, participants will engage in a series of workshops that are designed to help them through the admissions process for graduate or professional school. Juniors and seniors in college (from any college or university) – or even recent grads – who are interested in a health professions career are eligible to apply! GMDP is free of charge for accepted participants.
