Honors College Tutoring - Final Deadline Monday, Jan. 9
Want to be a tutor in the Honors College Tutoring Center?
Tutors must meet the following:
- Be a student in good standing with the Honors College
- Have attended UIC for at least 1 year
- Must be able to tutor in at least 3 different courses (you must have earned an A or B in classes taken at UIC in order to be eligible to tutor for those courses)
- Schedule 3 hours each week
Students who intend to participate in the Honors College Tutoring program must complete an application (attached below). The preferred deadline for applications is Monday, December 12, 2016; THE FINAL DEADLINE IS MONDAY, JANUARY 9, 2017. The tutoring program is scheduled to begin on MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2017. Once students have submitted an application and received confirmation of their participation in the program they should then register for HON 202 (CRN 15071). Students must be registered for HON 202 (in addition to HON 222) to count Honors College Tutoring as their honors activity. If you decide NOT to tutor, you must drop HON 202 by January 20, 2017 to avoid a “W” grade; if you drop between January 21, 2017 and March 17, 2017 you will receive a “W”. You will receive additional information about your tutoring schedule by the first week of classes in the Spring 2017 term.
The current application is attached below. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie O’Leary at soleary@uic.edu.
