UIC has a partnership with the Cities Project in which UIC undergraduate students will now have the exciting opportunity to participate and earn credit for their work. The UIC's Cities Project is a youth development opportunity where UIC undergraduate students mentor Chicago Public School (CPS) students, and UIC graduate students facilitate a coping skills curriculum. UIC undergrad students will be paired with a 6th-8th grade student to mentor at a participating school in an under-supported community in Chicago.
Additionally, UIC students will commit to meeting weekly for the entire academic year (Fall 2024-Spring 2025 ) to be role models and sources of encouragement for CPS students, specifically in the North Lawndale community.
