Position Responsibilities:
--This position will focus on studies including South Asians Active Together (SAATH) which is a multilevel physical activity intervention for South Asian women and girls, the SAHELI study which is a lifestyle intervention conducted with community and public health partners in the Chicagoland area, and the Mediators of Atherosclerosis in South Asians Living in America (MASALA) Study, the first longitudinal cohort study in U.S. South Asians to understand what factors lead to heart disease and guide prevention and treatment of heart disease.
--The projects sit with the Center for Community Health (CCH) and involve working with academic and community stakeholders to conduct clinical research.
--This project will require travel to community sites in Chicagoland and a combination of in-person and remote work.
--This position requires strong communication skills and ability to conduct clinical ass essments, including blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol measurements, and surveys among participants.
--This position requires fluency in a South Asian language (Gujarati, Hindi or Urdu).
Qualifications:
--Be able to speak either Gujarati, Hindi, or Urdu languages fluently;
--Be a United States citizen or permanent resident;
--Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
