The UIC Office of Undergraduate Research seeks a social media and marketing intern for the fall semester or entire 16-17 academic year. This internship is unpaid but could be structured to meet the requirements of an honors college activity or a for-credit professional internship program in the major or degree-granting college, with an advisor's approval.
The student will work with the OUR 3-8 hours per week to find and publicize research and creative engagement opportunities for undergraduates and help organize, publicize and assess the impact of in-person events in comparison to online events and resources. Those interested in graphic or digital design would make posters, brochures and web pages, depending on their skill set. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone interested in digital media communications, social media, event planning, graphic or digital design, academic affairs and student success initiatives (higher education), and social or community psychology. The duties will be assigned to maximally benefit the student's educational goals.
If you are interested, send an email to Dr. Sara Hall at sahall@uic.edu with the subject line: O.U.R. STUDENT INTERNSHIP. Include in your email your name, major, anticipated graduation date, your reason for being interested in the position and a brief summary of related courses or work or service experience you have, and the times your schedule would allow you to work on this internship. Please attach a resume if you have one. Students will be contacted in reply until the position is filled.
