 CAFHA is seeking a full-time Community Engagement and Education Manager to
 develop dynamic, novel strategies to engage stakeholders in fair housing
 discussions centered on segregation and integration, place-based equity,
 affirmatively furthering fair housing, and the value of diversity in
 housing, schools, and communities.  This position reports to CAFHA’s
 Executive Director. Primary functions of the job include:
 
 Community Outreach
 
 Build relationships with community based organizations, social service
 providers, municipal leaders, and other key stakeholders and serve as
 community liaison for CAFHA
 Develop an outreach platform to engage these groups in fair housing
 discussions and make the connection between fair housing and other
 tangential issues such as environmental justice, criminal justice,
 educational equity, and community health
 Assist in planning and executing bi-monthly CAFHA Membership Meetings
 Assist in processing membership renewals and cultivating new members
 Policy and Advocacy
 
 Engage in coalition-building and advocacy around identified fair housing
 issues
 Prepare research and policy briefs as well as other advocacy documents
 Fair Housing Training and Technical Assistance
 
 Create and facilitate fair housing trainings geared toward municipalities,
 public housing authorities, community organizations, housing providers,
 and housing seekers throughout Cook County
 Assist in the provision of technical assistance to municipalities and
 other entities to enhance fair housing compliance
 Other administrative duties as needed
 
 Minimum Requirements for Consideration:
 
 Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Social Work, Urban Planning or other
 relevant field
 Experience working with non-profits, community-based organizations, and/or
 municipalities
 Strong written and oral communication skills
 Excellent public speaking skills
 Experience providing training and workshops to a variety of audiences
 Ability to work a flexible schedule, meet deadlines, and manage time wisely
 Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills
 Deep commitment to fair housing, integration, and equity
