Medical Decision Making, a peer-reviewed journal housed in the UIC Department of Medical Education, is seeking an undergraduate intern to complete administrative tasks, update our author and reviewer accounts, correspond with authors and reviewers, create reports through the ScholarOne manuscript management system, communicate with the Society for Medical Decision Making, and promote the journal through social media.
Working for the journal is a great opportunity for students to learn about the peer-review process and interact with faculty and scholars in the field of medical decision making.
We are looking for a student who can work approximately 10 hours per week. The schedule is flexible based on the student's availability.
An ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, eloquent, responsible, prompt, and knowledgeable about the peer review process. Previous work or research experience is preferred.
We are looking to interview candidates the week of April 18 and have them start the week of April 25. The student must be available to work May and June. If you are interested in the position, please send a cover letter and resume to mdmintern@gmail.com.
