What? The Flick, written by Annie Baker and winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, is about a small, run-down movie theatre, the friendships and heartbreaks of its employees, and their love of cinema. Time Out Chicagodescribes it as “a hypnotic, heartbreaking, micro-epic about movies and moving on.”
When? Wednesday, March 23rd at 7:30
Where? Steppenwolf Theater, 1650 N Halsted St.
Why? It won the Pulitzer! It’s both funny and moving! It’s about movies! Why not?

What? Shakespeare’s Richard III performed by The Gift Theatre Company
When? Thursday, April 14th at 6:00pm
Where? Steppenwolf Theater, 1650 N Halsted St.
Why? This year marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, and Chicago is sponsoring a number of performances of his plays to celebrate The Bard’s life and work. Richard III begins with the famous line, “Now is the winter of our discontent,” and traces the Machiavellian Richard’s rise to power and his very short reign as King of England.
