The Office of the Dean of Students is looking for a hard- working, detail-oriented, self-motivated and competent individual to work as a General Office Aide within the Student Conduct Process area. The position directly reports to the Student Conduct Coordinator, Idalia Andrade. This position deals with highly confidential and sensitive information and subject matter. The individual filling this position must be able to work with a variety of people accomplishing a myriad of tasks and projects.
Principle Duties, Responsibilities, and Other Job Related Information:
Assist students, staff and faculty in the navigation of our website [deanofstudents.uic.edu]
Be knowledgeable about the Office of the Dean of Students services and the Student Conduct Process
Represent the Office of the Dean of Student in tabling events around campus and presentations
Data entry using Excel and Access database (Microsoft programs)
Make Deliveries on and off campus with University Vehicle (must have valid license)
Assist with walk-ins and answering phones at front desk and conduct cube as needed
Basic office duties such as copying, filing and shredding of student conduct files
Assist in publicizing events by creating and posting informative materials on bulletin boards around campus
Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Professionalism or being professional at all times
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work under short deadlines and produce work efficiently.
Strong and quick decision-making skills and organizational skills are a plus
Detail oriented.
Must be able to work well with little supervision
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Access and Word.
Must enjoy working with people
Good time management skills
Additional Requirements:
You must be registered for at least 6 credit hours for Fall semester.
You must be able to work 12-15 hours a week minimum during our office hours. Our office is open Monday through Friday--830AM-5:00PM
You must have federal work study. You will be required to submit award letter that clearly shows you have FWS with documents.
You must have good conduct standing with the University.
