The Women's Leadership & Resource Center and Campus Advocacy Network are launching an initiative for pregnant and parenting students at UIC. We are hosting an in-person conversation with student parents, faculty, staff, and administrators on improving our campus structures of support for students parents on Thursday, March 30, from 12:30-1:30 PM at the WLRC.
With these events, we aim to:
- provide a space for student parents to build community with one another and share their needs,
- publicize resources,
- make recommendations for better policies and practices,
- and strategize around serving student parents within our campus units.
As part of the initiative, we are also unveiling a webpage with resources and policy recommendations created by my colleague Candice Gary, graduate student in Public Health and graduate assistant with the WLRC and CAN.
