via the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP):
The Clinical Skills Workshop is a multidisciplinary, collaborative event between the colleges of Applied Health Sciences (Nutrition), Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Rush University’s Physician Assistant program.
Our goal is to provide an environment for undergraduate pre-health students to be exposed to multiple health-sciences career options and to learn valuable direct-patient-care clinical skills before applying to and beginning a health professional graduate program. The goal of this case-based workshop approach is to promote continuity of the event as well as to highlight a real medical team's multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
This will be a wonderful learning opportunity as to what we learn in professional school as well as a wonderful way to network!
Students will be provided with food and a packet to help them follow the case through each individual tutorial. Each professional program will teach its own 20-minute tutorial in one of two settings, either inpatient or outpatient, which subsequently means three programs will teach their tutorials in the designated “inpatient room” and the other three will teach in the designated “outpatient room.”
The event will be held on Monday, April 18th from 4:30-8:20 pm at the UIC College of Pharmacy. RSVP is required and can be done through this link (https://forms.gle/nkdcWnUpYFZ1WUtX8) or the QR codes in the attached flyer.
