Autoimmune Action & Advocacy will be collaborating with an organization called "Be the Match" to add UIC students to a national stem cell registry in order to find donors for patients without matches. Volunteers are needed to help set up and register potential donors!
The event will occur on Wednesday, October 12th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Student Center East, with a minimum 1-hour shift for volunteers.
Our goal is still to find a match for Alfredo Diaz, a 10-year old from Humboldt Park with an immunodeficiency condition called IL-10 that is autoimmune by nature.
