Do you like to laugh? So do we! We’re LAUGH, a new student organization seeking to promote the practice of laughter yoga in order to support student wellness and mental health. Laughter yoga is a practice that involves intentional guided laughter and deep breathing techniques from yoga (Note: Laughter yoga is not actual yoga). Not only is it extremely fun, but numerous research studies have also shown that laughter yoga has numerous health benefits such as decreasing cortisol levels, reducing blood pressure, and improving overall quality of life!
If this is something you would be interested in, please join us for our first informational meeting on Tuesday, December 1 at 7:00 PM. We will be discussing our goals for this academic year as well as conducting a mini-laughter session with the esteemed founder of this initiative and celebrity physician Dr. Madan Kataria! Our organization is open to all UIC students and faculty.
