Break Through Tech Chicago (the Melinda Gates-funded program in the UIC computer science department that aims to increase gender diversity in the tech world) has opened applications for its free week-long Guild program for January 2021, which also comes with a $250 stipend for student participation.
As stated on their website:
"Who should apply? You should! Guild is open to women who are freshmen and sophomores at UIC (no matter what your major) and women who are students in Chicago-area community colleges.
If you are curious about technology and coding, and if you want to join a supportive community of women who are also exploring tech, Guild may be for you. Apply here.
Or, if you’re just thinking about it, talk to us: visit our Students page, fill in the “Get Involved” form, and we’ll get in touch.
Note: Though women are our primary audience, we also welcome Guild applications from individuals who belong to any group that is underrepresented in the tech world."
