Become a part of UIC’s Medical Social Equity Initiative!
The Medical Social Equity Initiative (MSEI) is a Pre-Health interest (but not Pre-Health exclusive) organization to help students understand the complex political, social, and economic issues that many of our future patients may face, and learn how to better address the needs of each patient. Our organization raises awareness about the intersectionality between social equity causes, the health field, and medical policies. Through this organization, members will not only be able to grow and become more aware of the issues affecting different patients from different backgrounds but will also be able to address any implicit biases they may hold. Hopefully, through this organization, members will become empowered to work towards improving health equity within our own community and become more knowledgeable and well-rounded health professionals in the future.
