A research opportunity in the College of Medicine is available, studying the pathology and biochemistry of Alzheimers disease. Currently, our lab has projects focusing on everything from protein biochemistry, neuronal cell culture, preclinical therapeutic testing in transgenic mice to human trials with the mechanistic biomarkers developed in our lab. This is a summer volunteer position with opportunity for pay in the fall depending on your performance.
Preference for 20-40 hrs/wk over the summer to accelerate your learning experience and expand your lab techniques. This summer opportunity will transition into the school year and with development and mentorship for capstone thesis. Successful candidates will enhance their experience by immersing themselves in the scientific background/literature relevant to the labs research.
Our preference is for freshman and sophomore and work-study students with long-term commitment throughout undergraduate career. No experience needed; just a motivated student with a desire to learn.
