Join the UIC Disability Cultural Center for a tour of Crip*, an exhibition on view at Gallery 400 through March 12!
Crip* is curated by Liza Sylvestre, and brings together “artists who address disability and intersectional thinking. Some of the artists identify as disabled; some do not, but each has a relationship to (at least one) non-normative identity.” The works on display and the exhibition’s efforts to bring them into conversation with one another are about exploring nuances and complexities of lived experience, medium, and relationships to the normative. Come get to know a bit more about specific pieces in the show–what they ask us to think through, and through what means.
Our tour will be virtual over Zoom, but Gallery 400 is open to the public.
UIC-only hours: Tuesday & Wednesday, 10am-5pm
Public hours: Thursday & Friday, 10am-5pm & Saturday, 12-5pm
To share space in the Gallery, visitors must show proof of vaccination & photo ID, mask, and distance.
