    Welcome, Students, to a new year in the Honors College!

    If you're a returning student, we're so glad you're back! If you're new to the Honors College, we welcome you and look forward to getting to know you!

    Here are some reminders and announcements for the first few weeks. Please be sure to read through the entire post.

    Honors College Registration - Fall 2021 Honors Courses

    All Honors College students MUST register for either HON 222 or HON 322 each semester.

    If you are a first-year, sophomore, or junior, register for HON 222.

    HON 222 – Honors Activity

    0 credit hours, required each term, except for summer, for all Honors College students. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grade.

    Course Reference Numbers (CRN’s):

    • 42829 (for first-year students)
    • 13772 (for students whose last name starts with A – K)
    • 13773 (for students whose last name starts with L – Z)
    • 38177 (for students studying abroad; departmental approval required)

    If you are a senior, and you intend to conduct work to satisfy your Honors capstone, register for HON 322.

    HON 322 – Honors Capstone Activity

    0 credit hours. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grade

    Course Reference Number (CRN):

    • 29074: HON 322 – Honors Capstone

    The UIC Undergraduate Catalog will no longer be available to anyone in a printed form. The catalog is available to view online.

     

    Building Renovations

    For the time being, the Computer Lab, the Lounge, Tutoring Room, and the Quiet Study will not be available. This summer we began remodeling our facility, and work will continue for a while. We’re eager to have you see and enjoy the new décor and furniture, but that will have to wait a bit longer.  

     

    Advising

    Honors College advisors will have in-person as well as online opportunities for meetings. Online advising is available using a variety of virtual meeting platforms.  Please schedule an appointment with your advisor as you normally would using iAdvise, located in your my.uic.edu portal, under the “Advising” tab.  After you schedule your appointment, your advisor will provide additional information on how to access the meeting.

    Don’t know who your Honors Advisor is?  You can find this information in iAdvise under “My Network” or login to HARS.

    In addition, each of the Honors Advisors will hold weekly drop-in hours. This is a good option if you have a quick question or a more urgent concern.

     

    Faculty Fellow Assignments

    For all Faculty Fellow assignments, you can view the name, department, email, and other contact information of your Fellow via HARS.  Visit any UIC Honors College webpage and you will see “HARS Login” in the top right-hand corner.  Click the hyperlink and log in by entering your credentials.  On the next page, you will find your Fellow’s information in between your Advisor and Activities.
