Come join us for the continuation of the Sustainability Series Seminar! We will be discussing the connections between disability and climate justice, and how those two might sometimes come into conflict with each other. With recent events like the push against plastic straw use and the deep freeze in Texas, it’s important to understand how these events have affected people with disabilities.
This will be a discussion-based event led by two speakers. Our first speaker is Margaret Fink, the Director of the Disability Cultural Center (DCC), and our second speaker is Lily Diego Johnson who is the Program Coordinator of the DCC. Please come with an open mind, ready to learn and discuss! This will be a safe space to share your experiences or to simply understand others’ struggles.
It will be held through Zoom on March 29th from 5-6PM.
Access information: Live captions (CART) will be provided. For any other access requests, contact sshah296@uic.edu or 312-355-7050
