This will be a great event for those wanting to know more about social determinants of health and how hospitals address these factors.
March 2nd at 7:30pm

Here is a more detailed description of the event:
Community health needs assessments (CHNAs) are triennial reports required of all non-profit hospitals as a result of the 2011 Affordable Care Act. They require hospitals to survey community residents within their primary service areas to learn about their healthcare priorities. The rationale behind them is to create greater accountability to communities and inform implementation strategies for addressing these priorities. The talk will cover community health needs assessments and how they are used by UI Health to help inform work and outreach into communities. We can also provide an overview of the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design and how human-centered design is specifically well-suited for addressing health where people live, work, and play.
