The Chicago Brown Sign Project is looking for a student with social media knowledge. Specifically, we need help managing (and instructing us to manage) our Facebook page. We also need someone who has proficiency in working with website templates (we are using Weebly). This semester our goal is to layout and designate website pages and to begin to post content.
Here's our mission statement:
Chicago’s honorary brown signs can be easily distinguished from the city’s “real” green street signs; while locals know (and tourists figure out) that the green signs are the city’s usual navigational tool, many do not know the stories behind the city’s over 1300 honorary brown signs and what they reveal about Chicago legends and neighborhoods.
The Chicago Brown Sign Project offers writers and photographers the opportunity to uncover and publish the stories behind the city’s honorary brown signs.
If you are interested in teh position, contact Prof. Mimi Rosenbush at chicagobrownsigns@gmail.com.
