The Honors College is excited to announce another new Hon 200 course: Considering Antiracism: Moving from Ideas to Action! (Instructors: Alex Sainvilier and Lauren DeJulio Bell)
Building on the ideas set forth in Dr. Ibram Kendi's book, How to be an Antiracist (which many of us at UIC read this semester), this course will explore the various ways in which we can ensure antiracist behaviors become part of our daily actions. We’ll read articles and discuss how we can intentionally effect change in our communities and this world. Largely dialogic, this course will offer opportunities for students to share insight, suggestions, and experiences. We’ll also engage with the community around us to further expand our reach.
If you haven't read the book, no worries! You can still engage in the course and add your voice. The class will meet on Wednesdays from 2:00-2:50pm.
Seats are limited, so be sure to sign up today! If you have any questions, please reach out to Alex (asainv1@uic.edu) or Lauren (ldejbel@uic.edu).
We look forward to working with you!
