Leadership Lecture by Scott Dikkers, Founding Editor of The Onion
“Leadership and Creative Risk”
Friday, April 11
11:00am – 12:00pm
302 Student Center East
Come listen to Scott Dikkers, a founding editor of The Onion, tell the tale of his early struggles in the comedy business and how he ultimately got The Onion off the ground. As a farm boy with little education, he went from being a starry-eyed kid whose dream was to be published in his high-school newspaper to becoming an improbable 20-something business leader who founded the world's first humor website and headed up The Onion's growth into a worldwide brand and household name. Dikkers will share his own pitfalls and “lessons learned” to help students who are interested in finding their own path to creative leadership.
