The Udall Scholarship
Deadline: February 7, 2014
Eligibility: U.S. citizen or permanent resident; sophomore or junior; B average (3.0 GPA)
Award description: Candidates for the Udall Scholarship should be committed to a career devoted to preserving the environment OR be Native American and committed to a career in tribal public policy or Native American health care.
Strong candidates should demonstrate the following:
- Commitment to improving or preserving the environment or to health care or tribal public policy and a record of activity such as research, or work in student or community organizations that reflects this commitment.
- Personal characteristics - the criteria include leadership, community service, well roundedness, and strong references;
- Academic achievements
How to apply: Students must be nominated by UIC to apply. Applicants must register to apply with Beth Powers and can do so by calling her at (312) 355-3380 or emailing bpowers@uic.edu with a description of your interest in the field.
